GeForce RTX 4080 mobile graphics card beats GeForce RTX 3080 by 30% in Geekbench
A week before the official announcement, the GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card passed the performance test in Geekbench. The new generation model surpasses its predecessor by almost a third.
Here's What We Know
The performance test passed the Acer Predator laptop, which in addition to the Ada Lovelace generation graphics card is equipped with an Intel Core i9-13900HX processor with 24 cores. The test is interesting not only because of the results, but also because it revealed some of the characteristics of the GeForce RTX 4080 for laptops.
The graphics card will get a GPU AD104 with 7424 stream processors (58 multiprocessors) and 12 GB of memory. In the test the maximum frequency of the chip was 2010 MHz, and performance in single precision operations - almost 30 TFLOPS.
In OpenCL, the graphics card scored 178,038 points, beating the previous generation model, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti by 20%. The result of the latter was about 150,000 points. The advantage over the GeForce RTX 3080 Mobile is even more noticeable - 30%.
GeForce RTX 4080 Mobile presentation is expected on January 3. On the same day NVIDIA will be announcing RTX 4070 and RTX 4090 mobile graphics cards, as well as desktop GeForce RTX 4070 Ti.
