Bloomberg's Mark Gurman in his traditional weekly report said that Apple plans to equip all of its key products: smartphones, tablets, laptops and smartwatches with MicroLED displays.

Here's What We Know

According to the journalist, the company spent about 6 years developing the MicroLED technology. The project, codenamed T159, was launched around 2017. The display is designed to provide improved brightness, color reproduction and viewing angles, making images look as if they are "drawn" on the display glass.

The first gadget to get such a screen is expected to be the Apple Watch Ultra, but it won't debut until 2024. They will be followed by the iPhone, and the iPad and Mac will probably follow.

Apple's long-term plan is to incorporate MicroLED displays into all of its key products, but it could be a decade before they appear in the Mac because of the complexity of the technology at this early stage.
