Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 50MP camera and 120Hz OLED display - vivo X Flip foldable smartphone specs revealed

Digital Chat Station insider has published the specifications of the vivo X Flip foldable smartphone. It will be the third model with a foldable display in the Chinese company's range.

In 2022, vivo announced the X Fold and X Fold+ at five-month intervals. The Plus version got Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 instead of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Both smartphones compete with the Xiaomi MIX FOLD 2, OPPO Find N2 and Samsung Galaxy Fold 4, while the vivo X Flip will compete for buyers' wallets with the Huawei P50 Pocket, OPPO Find N2 Flip and Samsung Galaxy Flip 4.

The upcoming novelty will get two displays. The resolution of the additional one is not specified, but it is known that it will have a square shape. The main screen will be based on a Full HD+ OLED panel with 120Hz frame rate support.

At the heart of the vivo X Flip will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile processor rather than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The main camera will feature a 50 MP 1/1.5" optical sensor. The battery capacity will be 4,400mAh. This will be a record among all models in this class.

The vivo X Flip will be unveiled in the spring. More expensive vivo X Fold 2 is expected to be announced along with it.
