Media: iPhone 15 Pro loses branded silent mode switch
Earlier publications have published CAD drawings of future smartphones of the iPhone 15 line, but some points in the design were still unknown. Now 9to5Mac has shared data on the buttons of the older iPhone 15 Pro models.
Here's What We Know
The publication cites a source familiar with the manufacture of certified accessories for Apple products. According to him, the iPhone 15 Pro will lose the traditional silent mode switch, which has already become a signature feature of Apple smartphones. In its place, the manufacturer will install a conventional touch-sensitive button.
In addition, the iPhone 15 Pro will have a single volume control button rather than two separate ones. This practice is not new to the company: Apple has installed separate volume buttons in all iPhones since the iPhone 4. But the iPhone 2G, 3G and 3GS had a single volume control knob.
If we're talking more dramatic design changes, it's certainly the switch from the Lightning port to USB-C and the addition of Dynamic Island in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
