Rumour: Apple to add support for customisable lock screen for iPad to iPadOS 17

Apple plans to update the lock screen in the iPad.

The information was shared by insider @analyst941. The innovation will be added to the tablets with the iPadOS 17 update. iPad owners will be able to redesign the clock, add widgets, set different kinds of wallpaper (Photo Shuffle, Emoji and Weather), change the image style and more. Similar features appeared on the iPhone with the release of iOS 16 last year.

Incidentally, apart from the new lock screen, iPadOS 17 should also get an updated Control Center, a new Health app and improved search.

When We Can Expect It

Apple will showcase iPadOS 17 along with other new systems at the WWDC 2023 conference in early June.
