vivo S16 - Snapdragon 870, NFC, 50MP selfie camera and up to 512GB of storage starting at $360

Together with the vivo S16 Pro, the company introduced a cheaper model on the Qualcomm chip. The second novelty is called simply vivo S16.

Here's What We Know

The standard edition retained a 6.78" FHD+ OLED screen with 120 Hz refresh rate, a 4,600 mAh battery with 66-watt charging and a 50MP selfies camera. The interface suite is also unchanged, except for Bluetooth 5.2 instead of v5.3.

The RAM capacity is 8/12GB. The standard is LPDDR4x instead of LPDDR5. A 128GB storage variant has also been added to the 256GB and 512GB variants. The Sony IMX766V sensor was removed from the main camera. It was replaced by a 64 MP Samsung GW1P sensor. But the optical stabilization remained.

vivo S16 became only the second smartphone in the second half of 2022, which received the Snapdragon 870 processor. The first was the ZTE Axon 30S, announced in September.

Price

In 12/256GB and 12/512GB configurations, the vivo S16 was $40 cheaper than the Pro version. The 8/128GB and 8/256GB configurations cost $360 and $385 respectively.
