President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has been fighting his own war for months. He shoots down allegedly Ukrainian missiles, intercepts conversations of foreign secret services, fights off Ukrainian helicopters, and takes aim at the capitals of Western countries. on July 3, on Independence Day, Lukashenko began threatening adversaries, including Ukraine, with Polonez multiple rocket launchers. You will find out what the Belarusian multiple rocket launchers are like in this article.

What the Polonez can do?

Work on the MLRS began about 10 years ago at the state enterprise Precision Electromechanics Plant. The system was first shown in 2015, and it entered service a year after the demonstration.

"Polonez" uses Chinese-made A200 and A300 missiles. They were developed by the China Academy of Vehicle Technology and have two key differences from the Smerch MLRS missiles. Firstly, there is a satellite guidance system. Secondly, after fuel depletion the warhead detaches.

The range of A300 and A200 missiles is 290 km and 200 km respectively. At the exercise the Belarusian army practiced shooting at 100 km. The weight of the warhead is 140 kg in both cases, but it is possible that the actual data differ from what is known to the public. "Polonez" can perform a salvo of eight missiles. They fly on a ballistic trajectory with a velocity of up to 1600 m/sec. The maximum altitude is 50 km.

When the distance to the target is reduced to 20 km, the combat unit goes into a dive at an angle of 80°. The attack speed is 700 m/s. At the expense of small dimensions of the block it can create problems for air defense systems.

The multiple launch rocket system "Polonez" is based on the MZKT-7930 chassis with the wheel configuration of 8x8. Year of development - 1989. It is also used in other missile systems, including C-400 Iskander and Bastion.
