The Russian government seems to have taken seriously talks that the Ukrainian Armed Forces may attack the Crimean bridge.
What we know
Last week, the Russians conducted exercises near the bridge and tried to cover it with a smokescreen. Now it has come to light that the Russian Federation has sent a Project 436BIS(R) target ship to defend the facility. Pictures and video of the ship were published by residents of the temporarily occupied peninsula.
436BIS(R) is a self-propelled ship that is 45 m long and 8 m wide. It has nine masts on which reflectors are mounted. Their purpose is to simulate a spectacular scattering area. It is likely that the Russian military leadership believes that the missile Harpoon will react to the target ship.
