Work on Atmaca began in 2009. Ten years later, Roketsan tested the missile for the first time. The Atmaca is expected to enter service with the corvette Adawhich now uses American-made Harpoon anti-ship missiles costing about $1.5 million
The Turkish missile weighs 800 kg, and its warhead mass is 250 kg. The Atmaca has a length of 4.8-5.2 meters. It has a maximum range of 220 km. The company plans Roketsan to adapt the missile for launching from submarines, increasing its range up to 300 km and integrating a thermal homing head.
