HIMARS, Panzerhaubitze 2000, AHS Krab and CAESAR disrupt Russian army logistics
The Armed Forces of Ukraine began to receive long-range artillery, and the results of its use did not have to wait long.
What we know
Italian military expert Thomas Tayner notes that foreign artillery systems allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to attack Russian positions in the rear. This significantly complicates the occupiers' logistics.
Because of the use of long-range artillery, the Russians have to use more vehicles to transport ammunition. If previously it was necessary to cover about 40 km from the depot to the front line, now the distance has more than doubled, in some cases to 100 km. The same is true for food and fuel and lubricants.
The reason is that self-propelled howitzers AHS Krab, CAESAR and Panzerhaubitze 2000 can hit targets at a distance of up to 40 km. In addition, shells GMLRS for multiple launch rocket systems HIMARS with a range of up to 85 km with no loss of accuracy have been supplied to Ukraine.
Thus, now Russia has to stop trains with ammunition, spare parts and fuel at least 90-100 km from the front line, otherwise the Armed Forces of Ukraine could easily destroy the "parcel" with their artillery. This means that Russia would have to use more trucks and spend more time moving around the rear territory. This means that the Russian military will be able to make no more than one delivery each day.
