The U.S. used a drone and Hellfire missiles to eliminate al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden's successor, in Afghanistan

The U.S. military, together with the CIA, conducted a counterterrorism operation in Afghanistan this past weekend. The operation killed al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.

President Joe Biden (Joseph Biden) said during his speech on August 2 at 02:30. According to CNN, Zawahiri was hiding in Kabul and was killed by two Hellfire missiles. They were fired from a UAV. There were no U.S. personnel in Kabul at the time of the strike.

In case you didn't know, Ayman al-Zawahiri was Osama bin Ladin's successor. He is also credited as one of the masterminds of the 9/11 attacks.
