Over the weekend, Russian propaganda Telegram channels became animated and actively spread pictures of the allegedly destroyed German Gepard anti-aircraft tank. But then something went wrong. Even their own readers didn't believe the propagandists.

9K22 "Tunguska" / Gepard

It turned out that the burned-out German anti-aircraft gun turned out to be a Russian Tunguska surface-to-air missile system, which was destroyed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Both anti-aircraft guns are built on tracked chassis and have two cannons. The propagandists were not confused by the fact that the "Tunguska" is almost 1m taller, more than 1m longer and has fewer wheels with which to interact with the tracked flight.

Flashback

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have 24 Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled guns. They can shoot down airborne objects at a range of up to 4 km in range and up to 3 km in height, which fly at speeds of up to 400 m/s (1440 km/h). The range of shooting at ground targets is 4.5 km. In the near future, Germany will transfer six more anti-aircraft tanks to Ukraine and increase the total number of Gepard to 30 units.
