The AFU destroyed two Shahed-136 drones, a Mi-8 helicopter and an Su-25 attack aircraft, which came to the rescue
A bad Saturday for Russian military aviation turned into a bad Sunday. But on Sept. 25, Russia lost fewer aircraft than the day before.
Here's What We Know
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports the destruction of one Mi-8 helicopter. An armored Su-25 Grach attack aircraft came to its aid, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces were also able to shoot it down. The helicopter and the plane were destroyed by anti-aircraft gunships of the Odessa brigade. Their total value is about $30 million.
Also as of 12:00 (EDT) or 09:00 (PDT), the air defense assets of the Ukrainian Air Force eliminated two Iranian-made Shahed-136 kamikaze drones, which Russia renamed Geran-2. One drone was shot down in the Odessa region, and the second bomber ceased its flight prematurely in the Nikolayev region.
