The Ukrainian army is armed with American TOW missile defense systems. The Ukrainian Armed Forces recently destroyed a Russian tank with one of them.

Here's What We Know

The BGM-71 Tube-launched Optically-tracked Wire-guided is a heavy anti-tank missile system by Hughes Aircraft Company. It was created in 1968 and entered service two years later.

Over 50 years, about 700,000 guided anti-tank missiles have been produced for the TOW, which can reach speeds of up to 320 m/s. It has a maximum range of 4.5 km.
