The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has shared pictures taken at the front. They show the work of German Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft artillery units. "Crews of Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft artillery units are guarding the Ukrainian sky. Believe the warriors!" - said in the message of the General Staff.

Gepard is an antiaircraft self-propelled machine gun designed for direct cover of ground troops, destruction of air targets at slanting ranges of 100 m to 4 km and at altitudes up to 3 km, flying at a speed of 350-400 m/s, as well as ground (surface) targets at a range of up to 4500 meters from the ground, from a short stop and in motion. The German launcher has automated fire control system. It takes into consideration the atmospheric pressure, air temperature and humidity, as well as wind speed and direction during the firing. In addition, it can operate in conditions of intense electronic countermeasures of the enemy.

Nowadays there are more than 30 Gepard systems in service of the Ukrainian army.
