"100 shots - 100 hits": the mayor of Kyiv told about the effectiveness of the German IRIS-T air defense system in Ukraine
Germany has promised to transfer four modern IRIS-T air defense systems to Ukraine, and in October the first system arrived in Ukraine. It is a medium-range surface-to-air missile system designed to destroy aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. In an interview with Spiegel, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klytschko spoke about the effectiveness of the German weapons.
He said the German air defense systems are 100 percent effective and conveyed Germany's gratitude for the SAMs, which help secure the skies over the Ukrainian capital.
"German air defense systems work very accurately. A hundred shots, a hundred hits."
Klitschko urged the FRG to hand over more weapons to Ukraine, as there will always not be enough until the war is over.
"Many people ask me how many guns are enough: until this war is over, there won't be enough. We need more support."
