The Ukrainian Armed Forces may receive new drones in the near future. There is a possibility that Canada will send FLIR SkyRanger R70 drones.

Here's What We Know

Ukraine's Economic Development Minister Yulia Svyrydenko sent a request to Canada for 300 drones last year. The issue was not considered, but a positive outcome may now be facilitated by the Canadian Commercial Corporation.

The drones are being assembled in Ontario. The FLIR SkyRanger R70 drones feature thermal imaging and electronic warfare protection. Teledyne drones recognize people, track smartphones, and find chemical weapons.

Drones can be equipped with a system for dropping munitions. The quadcopter can stay in the air for 40-50 minutes depending on the mode of use. The range of communication is 5 km.

Flashback
