Ukrainian Armed Forces show rare video of Switchblade 300 kamikaze drones

The Ukrainian Defence Forces have been using US Switchblade 300 kamikaze drones for nearly a year. However, videos of the barraged munitions are still rare.

The use of the Switchblade 300 first became known in late May 2022, some two months after the official announcement of the inclusion of the bomber munitions in the military assistance package. At that time, two short videos appeared at once at short intervals.

First, the Armed Forces showed a video shot on camera of the kamikaze drone itself. Later, footage of the launcher appeared. The new video shows both the Switchblade 300 launching and hitting targets.

The bouncing munition was developed by the American company AeroVironment. It weighs 2.5kg and is capable of 100km/h in flight and 160km/h in attack. The cost of one kamikaze drone is $6000.
