Ukrainian military unexpectedly displays Swedish RBS-56 BILL anti-tank missile systems, which had not been announced
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have received the RBS-56 BILL portable anti-tank missile systems. Their transfer has not been officially announced.
Here's What We Know
The RBS-56 BILL is an anti-tank missile system made in Sweden. It is possible that it was Sweden that sent it to Ukraine. Earlier, the Scandinavian country provided the Ukrainian Defence Forces with RBS-17 missile systems.
The RBS-56 BILL is equipped with a day and night sight. The launcher weighs 36kg. The missile is capable of destroying armoured targets up to a range of 2200 metres.
During launch the rocket flies out at a velocity of 72 m/s. The engine is then activated, which accelerates it to 250m/s. After 400 metres of flight, the engine is switched off and the missile continues free flight.
