Missiles for NASAMS, rockets, Javelin and drone-killing guns - White House announces $2.1bn military aid package for Ukraine

The US Department of Defence has a second package of military assistance to Ukraine. The Pentagon has published a list of munitions and equipment to be transferred as part of the USAI initiative.

Here's What We Know

The cost of the military aid package is $2.1bn. Once announced, the process of signing contracts with US manufacturers will be launched. Details of the package can be found below:

  • missiles for NASAMS;
  • anti-aircraft ammunition (23mm and 30mm);
  • artillery shells (130mm and 122mm);
  • rockets for BM-21 "Grad" (122 mm);
  • mortar rounds (81 mm and 120 mm)
  • mortar shells (60 mm, 81 mm and 120 mm)
  • tank shells (120 mm);
  • Javelin anti-tank systems;
  • anti-tank guided missiles;
  • high-precision aerial munitions;
  • rocket launchers;
  • bridge breakers;
  • trucks and trailers for transporting equipment;
  • communications equipment;
  • nine vehicles with 30-mm cannons to destroy drones;
  • ten laser-guided missile launchers for destroying drones;
  • three radar stations;
  • seven tactical vehicles;
  • eight fuel tankers;
  • four logistics vehicles;
  • SATCOM terminals.

All of the above will not be sourced from Pentagon warehouses. The USAI programme will purchase equipment from industry.
