Ukrainian military shows rare video of TOW-2B anti-tank missile system near Bakhmut
Members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have demonstrated a TOW-2B anti-tank missile system in action. The video was filmed in the hottest part of the front - near Bakhmut.
Here's What We Know
The anti-missile system is mounted on an armoured HMMWV. However, the TOW-2B is also part of the M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, which were announced to the Ukrainian Armed Forces a few months ago.
The missile is equipped with an approximately 150mm diameter warhead with two EFP-type charges developed by Aerojet. The warhead is detonated during a missile's flight over the most vulnerable part of the target.
The TOW-2B missile has a remote dual-mode fuse. Magnetic and laser sensors are used to detect a large mass of metal near the target. They then trigger the detonation of the warhead.
