Ukrainian Air Force shoots down 35 of 35 Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones that attacked Kyiv region
The command of the Ukrainian Air Force said that more than three dozen Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones attacked the Kyiv region on the night of 8 May. 100% of the aerial threats were destroyed.
Here's What We Know
The Russian army launched drones from an airfield in the Bryansk region. Air defence forces and assets have destroyed 35 out of 35 kamikaze drones Shahed-131/136. Note that Russia labels the drones as Geran-2.
The Ukrainian Air Force recalled that although the drone was destroyed, its wreckage could pose a danger to people on the ground. This was the case this time when debris from one drone hit a residential building in the Ukrainian capital.
In addition to the Kyiv region, Russian aircraft shelled the Odessa region during the night. Tu-22M3 bombers launched a missile strike. The missiles in question were probably X-22 missiles. According to the Air Force, a total of eight missiles were fired and some of them failed to reach their targets. Details of the air defence system's performance have not yet been specified.
