Ukraine's latest BM Oplot tank revealed in rare photos during tests

The head of the Kharkiv regional state administration, Oleh Synegubov, has published photos of the BM Oplot tank. The combat vehicle was demonstrated to Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov.

The head of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry during his visit to Kharkiv region visited the proving ground where the newest Ukrainian tank was being tested. Oleh Synegubov said that the Oplot tank meets the requirements of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and is capable of solving complex tasks on the battlefield.

The tank is a deep upgrade of the T-84U Oplot and is the newest member of the T-84 series. Prior to being adopted for service, the Oplot MB was called Oplot-M. The combat vehicle was designed by the Kharkiv Machine Building Design Bureau.

The Oplot is fitted with the KBA-3 125-mm gun and two 12.7-mm and 7.62-mm machine guns. The arsenal includes a Kombat anti-tank guided missile. The tank is also provided with dynamic protection and passive armour.

The power plant is represented by a 1200 hp 6TD-2E engine. The fighting vehicle is capable of speeds of up to 70km/h. The range of the Ukrainian tank is 400 km and is increased by 100 km due to the external fuel tanks.
