The Ukrainian Armed Forces have once again demonstrated the excellent accuracy of M982 Excalibur rounds. Two 155mm shells were used to destroy two Russian self-propelled 2S19 Msta-S howitzers (NATO classification: M1990 Farm).
Here's What We Know
The M1990 Farm was developed 40 years ago by specialists of the Ural Transport Machine Building Plant. A total of over 700 self-propelled artillery systems were produced, which came into service in 1989.
The howitzer is equipped with a 2A64 152mm cannon. The maximum range of fire is almost 30 km. In addition to the cannon, the M1990 Farm has one 12.7 mm large-caliber machine gun to fight lightly armored targets.
The combat vehicle is equipped with a 780 horsepower engine. The power plant allows M1990 Farm to reach a speed of 60 km/h on the highway. Fuel tanks with a capacity of 1,300 litres provide a range of 500 km.
