Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy Soviet 152 mm M1987 howitzer 2A65 in Russia

Last week, the 15th Independent Artillery Reconnaissance Brigade discovered a 2A65 Msta-B howitzer (NATO classification: M1987). It was located in Russian Federation territory some 7km from the Ukrainian border.

As for the M1987, it is a Soviet 152 mm howitzer which began production in 1986. It can hit targets at a maximum distance of 24.7 km and 29 km depending on the type of ammunition.
