Ballistic Iskanders, hypersonic Kinzhals and strategic Kh-101 / Kh-555 - Ukrainian Air Force destroys 157 missiles in a month
The Ukrainian Defence Forces have managed to destroy more than a hundred Russian missiles of various types over the past month. These included the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic/aeroballistic missiles.
Here's What We Know
As usual, the Ukrainian Air Force has destroyed the most strategic Kh-101 and Kh-555 cruise missiles. The launches involve Tu-95 bombers, which fly from the Finnish border to the Caspian Sea to make the launch. A total of 123 Kh-101 and Kh-555 missiles were shot down in 30 days in June.
Kalibr cruise missiles are in second place by a wide margin. Ships in the Black Sea are used for launches. A total of 16 such missiles were shot down by the Air Force during the month.
Kyiv was attacked by Iskander-M ballistic missiles and the hypersonic Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles, seven and six respectively. The MIM-104 Patriot air defence system was able to destroy all airborne threats. Other anti-aircraft missile systems are not capable of intercepting such targets.
In addition, the Ukrainian Defence Forces in June shot down three Iskander-K cruise missiles and two missiles whose type was not specified. Thus, 157 air threats were intercepted during the month.
