Six FPV drones worth a total of $2100 destroyed Russian BMP-1, BMP-2 and BTR-82A at a cost of nearly $1 million
It's been a long time since we wrote about how Ukrainian FPV drones costing a few hundred dollars destroy Russian armoured vehicles that cost the Russian budget hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars. We will fix that now.
Here's What We Know
The Ukrainian Defence Forces destroyed three units of Russian armoured vehicles with the help of cheap kamikaze drones. The targets of FPV drones were Russian infantry fighting vehicles BMP-1 and BMP-2, as well as armoured personnel carrier BTR-82A.
@OSINTua published a short video showing the liquidation of the BMP-2 alone. He notes that three units of armoured vehicles were left behind by the Russians. It was important to destroy them in order to exclude the possibility of evacuation and repair with subsequent return to the battlefield.
The Ukrainian Defence Forces used six FPV drones with a total cost of $2100 to hit the armoured vehicles. Destroyed BMP-1, BMP-2 and BTR-2A are collectively estimated at almost $1 million. In simple words, every dollar invested in the purchase of drones has paid for itself.
