Ukraine's defence forces have seized a relatively rare Russian 2S5 Giatsint-S self-propelled gun

The Ukrainian Defence Forces have received another Russian self-propelled gun. The Ukrainian military managed to seize the 2S5 Giatsint-S.

In social networks appeared a video showing the captured self-propelled gun 2S5 Giatsint-S. Now it will fight on the side of the Armed forces of Ukraine against its former masters.

The 2S5 Giatsint-S is a Soviet self-propelled howitzer capable of engaging enemy targets at a distance of up to 33 kilometres. It is equipped with a 152 mm 2A37 semi-automatic cannon and a 7.62 mm PKT machine gun.

The combat vehicle is equipped with a power plant with a capacity of more than 500 horsepower and can reach a speed of over 63 km/h. The tracked chassis has a range of approximately 500 kilometres.

The 2S5 Giatsint-S can be described as a relatively rare Russian gun. According to Oryx, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have destroyed 25 self-propelled cannons. We wrote about the elimination of two of them today. At least six units of Giatsint-S were captured earlier.
