The Ukrainian Air Force has officially confirmed that it has started using French AASM Hammer bombs.

The image of the aerial bomb appeared in a video published by the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleyshchuk. The AFU hit enemy positions in the Kherson region with the AASM Hammer.

AASM Hammer is a French high-precision aerial bomb. It is manufactured by Safran Electronics & Defence. The bomb is produced in different modifications. The basic version has a 250kg warhead, and the top version has a 1000kg warhead. It can fly up to 70 kilometres. The AASM Hammer is launched from different platforms including Mirage 2000D, Rafale, Tejas, F-16 and Mirage F1 aircraft. The AFU is likely to use the bombs with Soviet Su-24 and MiG-29 aircraft. By the way, Ukraine will receive a total of 600 such aerial bombs from France.
