Taiwan will allocate $1.1 billion for the purchase of U.S. weapons, including Sidewinder and Harpoon missiles

The Taiwanese authorities have decided to allocate $1.1 billion for the purchase of U.S. weapons. The potential agreement has already been approved by the U.S. State Department.
Here's What We Know
The package includes 60 AGM-84L-1 Harpoon Block II anti-ship missiles. Their total value is $335 million. Taiwan will also buy 100 AIM-9X Block II Sidewinder air-to-air missiles for $85.6 million.
The deal between the island nation and the United States will include logistical support for radar surveillance. In simple terms, Taiwan will receive parts to repair radar systems and keep them operational. The cost will be $665.5 million.
