Lockheed Martin will supply Australia with 12 more Sikorsky MH-60R military helicopters
Lockheed Martin has officially confirmed an additional contract for the production and delivery of 12 Sikorsky MH-60R helicopters to the Royal Australian Air Force.
Here's What We Know
The new batch of helicopters will create a third squadron of MH-60R helicopters as part of the Royal Air Force's deck aviation force. Lockheed Martin plans to begin deliveries of the helicopters in mid-2025 and complete them within a year.
Sikorsky Aircraft Australia Limited will provide maintenance services for the Sikorsky MH-60R. The company is located in New South Wales and already provides maintenance services for aircraft that have been placed in the armed forces of the country.
It should be noted that information about the deal appeared in late summer, and only a month later, Lockheed Martin confirmed it. The contract value is more than $500 million. Now the Royal Air Force has 24 helicopters. Also Lockheed Martin supplies Sikorsky MH-60R to South Korea, Denmark, Greece, India and Saudi Arabia.
