Malaysia and Indonesia want to buy Turkish UAVs: it could be Bayraktar TB2 or AKINCI

Turkey has announced that Malaysia and Indonesia are interested in buying Turkish drones.

Reuters news agency reported this, citing Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.

""Many Asian countries, especially Malaysia and Indonesia, show great interest in our defence industry products. Agreements are being signed" "- Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said at a press conference in Tokyo.

It is not known yet which UAVs are being discussed, but we can assume that it will be Bayraktar TB2 or Bayraktar AKINCI.

The Bayraktar TB2 is an operational and tactical strike UAV with a combustion engine and a pusher type propeller. The drone has up to four guided munitions. It is capable of remaining in the air for 12 to 24 hours. The maximum control range is up to 150 km. By the way, Bayraktar TB2 is now actively used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the war with Russia.

Bayraktar TB2

The Bayraktar AKINCI is a new Turkish drone. It is equipped with two AI-450T turboprop engines developed in Ukraine. Each one has 750 horsepower. They enable the drone to reach speeds of up to 361 km/h. The cruising speed of the UAV is 240 km/h. The strike drone weighs 5,500 kg and can carry a payload of 1,350 kg.
