NATO put Eurofighter Typhoons on alert to intercept four Russian warplanes in Swedish and Polish airspace

Russian warplanes continue to stage provocations in the Baltic Sea area. On October 5, NATO intercepted four Russian army fighters at once.

NATO has put Eurofighter Typhoon fighters of the Italian Armed Forces on alert in response to the intrusion of warplanes into the airspace of two European countries. The Russian jets took off from the air base in Kaliningrad. In flight, they crossed Polish and Swedish airspace.

After the Italian Eurofighter Typhoons got involved, the Russian planes returned back to Kaliningrad. NATO spokesman Matthias Eichenlaub said NATO fighter jets regularly intercept Russian warplanes that do not comply with international air safety rules.
