There will be a NATO exercise, which will involve 9,000 troops from the United States, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden. During the exercise, the aircraft carrier will interact with 20 ships and 60 aircraft.

The USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) was launched in 2013 and entered service with the U.S. Navy in May 2017, replacing the USS Enterprise (CVN-65). According to estimates by various analysts, the ship cost the Department of Defense $13-17.5 billion.
