U.S. defense company Lockheed Martin at the AUSA 2022 armament show showed a concept of the longest-range missile for the M142 HIMARS and M270 MLRS multiple rocket launchers.

Here's What We Know

We are talking about the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM). The manufacturer made sure that it can hit enemy targets at a distance of over 499 km. At the same time Lockheed Martin says that the maximum launch range of PrSM is 650 km.

The PrSM will replace the ATACMS tactical ballistic missile. It can hit targets at ranges up to 300 km. One of the features of the new missile will be the ability to destroy sea and moving objects.

At the end of September the United States has already ordered 54 missiles PrSM. They will be used for testing. The cost of the contract is almost $77.5 million. Britain has already announced its readiness to purchase PrSM, which decided to upgrade its fleet of M270 MLRS to the latest M270A2 modification.
