North Korea is ready for first nuclear test in 5 years
In the near future the DPRK may conduct its first nuclear test since 2017. This is reported by Bloomberg, citing Yoon Suk Yeol, the leader of South Korea, who made a statement to the parliament.
Here's What We Know
North Korea has conducted six nuclear tests in all time. The next one will be the seventh overall and the first in the last five years. South Korea, Japan and the United States have already criticized North Korea's behavior. At the same time, the United States said that the nuclear test could take place at any time.
It is assumed that North Korea will use the upcoming test to check the warhead with different types of missiles that were designed to strike Japan and South Korea. Pyongyang also wants to increase the power of nuclear weapons for long-range missiles that can attack the continental United States.
