Boeing Defense has handed over the first modernized AH-64E Apache helicopter with improved features and software to the Dutch Army
Boeing Defense sent an upgraded AH-64E v6 Apache helicopter to the Royal Netherlands Air Force.
Here's What We Know
The manufacturer announced it in Twitter. So far we are talking about only one model out of 28 ordered. The upgraded version of the AH-64E v6 Apache boasts improved software, features, as well as new sensors. Incidentally, the Netherlands signed a contract to upgrade the helicopters in 2019. Deliveries of equipment will last until 2025.
Flashback
The AH-64 Apache is an American main attack helicopter, which has been in service with the US Army and other countries around the world since the mid-1980s. It was developed by Hughes Helicopters, but now Boeing Defense is producing it. There are currently more than 1,260 Apache helicopters in the world, with more than 665 of them representing the E model. One such helicopter costs more than $18,000,000.
