Lithuania will repair 12 Ukrainian self-propelled howitzers Panzerhaubitze 2000
In mid-September, it became known that Ukraine would be able to repair Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled artillery units in Lithuania at a joint venture of Rheinmetall and Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anušauskas said that more than ten howitzers would be sent for repair.
Here's What We Know
The head of the Lithuanian defense ministry wrote in Twitter that the first two self-propelled artillery pieces had already been successfully repaired and sent to Ukraine. Two more howitzers are on their way back. Lithuania plans to repair at least 12 Panzerhaubitze 2000.
In total at the disposal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine there are 22 self-propelled artillery systems, transferred by Germany and the Netherlands (14 and 8 respectively). They include four Panzerhaubitze 2000, which arrived from Germany along with two surface drones and two M270 MLRS multiple rocket launchers.
