Germany, together with Israel, plans to develop an electronic warfare system for Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft.

Here's What We Know

The German Air Force will modernize the system of electronic warfare, which is used in aviation. The German company Hensoldt and the Israeli Rafael Advanced Defense Systems will develop the new complex.

The essence of the modernization is to combine the work of Sky Shield and Kalätron Attack systems. The first system was developed by Rafael and is responsible for jamming signals. The second is a product of Hensoldt and provides neutralization of enemy air defenses by creating jamming.

The project has six years to complete. Current Eurofighter Typhoon fighters in service with the Luftwaffe are equipped with CAPTOR radar system, PIRATE target detection system and Prätorian electronic warfare system.
