The Ukrainian army will soon have another Vampire in its arsenal. The RM-70 Vampire multiple rocket launcher system will be joined by the L3Harris VAMPIRE missile system.

Here's What We Know

VAMPIRE is an acronym for Vehicle-Agnostic Modular Palletized ISR Rocket Equipment. It is a portable system for eliminating enemy drones. The kit can be mounted on any vehicle with a cargo body. Specifically, on a pickup truck, as shown in the image.

The VAMPIRE system was part of the military aid package announced by the U.S. back on August 24 on Ukraine's Independence Day. Despite this, the complex will be transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine only in 2023. This was officially announced by the US Department of Defense. The L3Harris company notes that it will be able to supply VAMPIRE within nine months after the contract is signed with the Pentagon.

The VAMPIRE kinetic system uses 70 mm rockets to destroy drones. In addition to a four-missile launcher, the system includes the AGR-20 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) laser guidance system.
