Analogue to HIMARS: Poland will receive the first batch of Korean K239 Chunmoo multiple launch rocket systems with a range of up to 300 km in 2023

The Polish government recently signed a contract with South Korea for the supply of K239 Chunmoo MLRS. It is now known when the Poles will receive the first units.

When We Can Expect It

The first batch of 18 multiple rocket launchers is planned to be delivered to the Polish army in 2023. The corresponding message appeared on the website of the Polish Armed Forces. By the way, the Poles have ordered a total of 300 MLRS from Hanwha Defense.

Flashback

The K239 Chunmoo has been in service with the South Korean army for seven years. The South Korean company Hanwha Defense is developing the MLRS. It can use different types of ammunition: 130mm, 227mm (HIMARS compatible) and 239mm. The K239 Chunmoo has two containers with 6-12 rockets. The maximum range of the MLRS is 300 km.
