Lockheed Martin has handed over three F-35 Lightning II fifth-generation fighters to Israel

Lockheed Martin sent three more fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighters to Israel as part of an agreement signed in the fall of 2010.
Here's What We Know
The F-35i fighters (Israeli version) landed at Nevatim Air Base on Sunday, Nov. 13. They will be part of the 140th Golden Eagle Fighter Squadron and will begin missions in the coming weeks.
Israel ordered 50 F-35 Lightning II fifth-generation fighters in October 2010, with an option to buy 25 more. Israel now has three full squadrons (36 planes). In addition to the Golden Eagle, they are the 116th The Lions of the South and the 117th First Jet, which is a training squadron.
