The Polish national soccer team went to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar accompanied by military aircraft.

Fourth-generation F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters escorted the plane with Polish soccer players to the border of the country. Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak wrote about it.
The footballers left for Qatar from the military part of Okęcie Airport in Warsaw. The country's Ministry of Defense authorized the use of F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters, which flew from the airbase in Krzesiny, to escort them.
It is worth noting that the Polish Army has 48 fourth generation fighters F-16 Fighting Falcon. The basis of the air fleet are aircraft upgraded to the Block 52+ level.
