Republic of Korea unveiled a new prototype of KF-21 Boramae fighter - the development of the aircraft costs more than $5 billion

South Korea and Indonesia continue to work on the joint KF-21 Boramae fighter.

The president of South Korea visited Korea Aerospace Industries, where the fifth prototype of the aircraft was unveiled. This fighter will be transferred to Indonesia, but only after Jakarta pays its share in the program, but for now the 005 prototype will remain in Korea.

The fighter will have a length of 13 meters, a height of 4.5 meters and a wingspan of 14 meters. The KF-21 Boramae will be able to reach supersonic speeds (Mach 1-5). The aircraft made its maiden flight this summer, and another prototype will be created before the start of serial production.

The cost of the KF-21 Boramae development program is about $5.2 billion, with South Korea financing 80% of the project and Indonesia 20%. In addition, the aircraft will be 65% made of South Korean-made components. Korea Aerospace Industries is expected to produce 120 fighters by 2032.
