The United States once again showed its Ohio-class strategic missile cruiser. The U.S. conducted joint exercises with Great Britain, in which in addition to submarines the "doomsday" aircraft and the Seahawk helicopter took part.

Here's What We Know

The exercise took place in the Atlantic Ocean. The US sent there the submarine USS Tennessee Ohio class. It was accompanied by a British submarine Vanguard class. Both strategic missile cruisers carry Trident II intercontinental ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads.

Usually the United States does not disclose the location of its Ohio submarines, but now it even publishes high-quality images that allow the submarines to be seen. This time the footage shows Sikorsky's MH-60R Seahawk helicopter in addition to two missile cruisers.

Britain is more cautious about its submarines. The Royal Navy decided not to disclose which Vanguard-class submarine took part in the exercise. Britain has a total of four cruisers of the Trident system.

It is noteworthy that the so-called Boeing E-6B Mercury "doomsday plane" flew over the submarines. It is designed to provide communication between the President of the United States and the elements of the nuclear triad (ballistic intercontinental missiles, Ohio missile cruisers and strategic bombers).
