Croatia has already signed a contract for the arms with the manufacturer MBDA France. The amount of the deal is 72,000,000 euros. Deliveries of the system will begin in 2024.

Mistral is a man-portable anti-aircraft missile system designed to engage targets at low altitudes such as helicopters and aircraft. It was developed by the French company MBDA and adopted by the French Army in 1987. MANPADS has a length of 1.8 m, weight 19 kg and range from 500 to 6000 m. Mistral has a burst velocity of 800 m/s. Mistral 3 is the most advanced version of the SAM. It is capable of intercepting air targets at ranges from 500 to 7,500 meters and altitudes up to 3 km in challenging weather conditions at any time of day.
