Nexter unveils Jaguar armoured vehicle with Akeron MMP guided missile to replace AMX-10RC, ERC-90 and VAB

The French company Nexter has brought a new armoured vehicle to Abu Dhabi for the IDEX arms show. It is called the Jaguar.

Here's What We Know

The Jaguar is a new generation of armoured vehicle. It is designed as a replacement for the Véhicule de l'Avant Blindé (VAB) armoured personnel carriers, AMX-10RC wheeled tanks and ERC-90 armoured vehicles.

The vehicle is equipped with a 40mm automatic cannon and an Akeron MMP guided missile to defeat enemy tanks. The Jaguar is protected against 14.5mm ammunition, 10kg explosives and 155mm STANAG 4569 Level 4 artillery shells.

The engine is rated at 5,400 horsepower. According to the manufacturer, the armoured vehicle has a top speed of 90 km/h while cruising on the highway.

Nexter has signed a contract with the Ministry of Defence, under which the French military has already received 38 Jaguar armoured vehicles. By 2025, the company will supply vehicles to the Belgian Army.
