Video: B-52 Stratofortress nuclear bombers appear in Estonia 200km from the russian border

The United States has sent two B-52 Stratofortress bombers to Estonia. The aircraft of the 5th Bomber Wing's strategic aviation wing departed from US Air Force Base Minot in North Dakota the day before.

B-52 Stratofortress nuclear bombers flew 200km from the Russian border. The US sent the planes to Estonia in honour of the country's Independence Day, which is celebrated today, 24 February. The overflight of the strategic bombers over Tallinn was part of the celebrations.

US Air Force General James Hecker, commander of the Air Force in Europe and Africa, said the US remains firmly committed to the freedom and sovereignty of Estonia and all Baltic allies. US and Estonian security cooperation is a key element in efforts to strengthen NATO's eastern flank in Europe.

In addition to the B-52 Stratofortress, other aircraft also took part in the parade. In particular, according to the official website of the US Air Force in Europe and Africa, Rafale, Eurofighter Typhoon and F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters of the French, German and Polish Air Forces could be seen in the sky above Tallinn.
