Poland ordered 116 tanks late last year. The contract value is estimated at $3.75 billion. In addition to tanks, the agreement calls for eight M1110 bridge laying vehicles, six M577A3 command vehicles, 26 HMMWV armored vehicles, 26 JLTV light armored vehicles and 12 M88A2 recovery vehicles.
The Abrams M1A1s replace the T-72 and PT-91 Twardy tanks that were sent to Ukraine. In addition, Poland ordered 250 M1A2 Abrams SEP V3s last year, but deliveries will not start until 2025.
