Thousands of GMLRS rounds, hundreds of AGM-158 JASSM missiles, AIM-120 AMRAAM and more - Pentagon will request $170bn for weapons for US Air Force, Navy and Army
The US Department of Defense has requested $170 billion for ammunition and military development. More than $4 billion of this will be used to buy missiles for the Navy, the Air Force and the US Army.

The Department of Defence will request $76.8bn for the Marine Corps and the Navy. Almost half of this amount ($32.8 billion) will be for new ships. The Space Force and the U.S. Air Force will receive $61 billion, while the ground forces will receive $24.4 billion.
The Pentagon plans to spend $4.311 billion to buy ammunition. The largest amount, $951 million, will be allocated to buy 550 AGM-156 JASSM air-to-surface missiles from Lockheed Martin.
Raytheon will receive $928m to produce AIM-120 ARMAAM all-weather air-to-air missiles for the US Air Force and Navy. For the GMLRS 5,016 rockets for HIMARS, $886 million will be allocated.
Lockheed Martin will also receive $639 million for the delivery of 91 AGM-158C LRASM anti-ship missiles for the US Navy. In addition, the Defense Department plans to purchase a new version of the Stinger, 78 MK-48 torpedoes and 541 Javelin missiles worth $400 million, $308 million and $199 million respectively.
This is reported by Bloomberg, citing internal Pentagon budget documents. They will be officially released by the US Department of Defense next Monday.
